Lincoln Heights Elementary

Lincoln Heights Elementary opened for the 1953-1954 school year.  It was to be a temporary solution for the growing Lincoln Heights neighborhood and its burgeoning school age population.   The school was  a one-story wooden framed building with four attached portable classrooms.   Four new classrooms were added in 1955 and in 1957-1958 a new brick clad wing was added along with seven more classrooms, a gymnasium and kitchen.  The original buildings were demolished when the school was replaced in the early 2000s.
