Hamblen Elementary

2121 East Thurston Avenue

Spokane, WA 99203

The original Hamblen Elementary School was named after Lawrence R. Hamblen, a Spokane attorney and member the Spokane Park Board. The school began as a four classroom unit built in the summer of 1954 and was located at 4005 South Napa Street. It opened its doors to students in the fall of that year. The school was rebuilt in the late nineties at its present location on Thurston Avenue.
